White Pomfret is also known as  "Bawal Putih" in Malay. People love Pomfret due to its delicate white flesh with a subtle “non-fishy” flavor.

The similarity between Chinese Pomfret and White Pomfret often makes people confused, the easiest way to distinguish them is via the broadness and tail of the fish. Chinese Pomfret broadness is relatively wider than White Pomfret and the tail is shorter than White Pomfret.
